Born in 1963 in Bolton, England
Stephen Taylor is the founding Director of Stephen Taylor Architects formerly known as Houlton Taylor Architects from 1993. He graduated from the Royal Collage of Art in 1987 with a Masters of Arts, and Architecture RIBA part 2 and subsequently gained his RIBA part 3 and registration as Chartered Architect in1993.
He gained experience form a number of high profile employers such as Richard Rogers Partnership, Stanton Williams, Jeremy Dixon BDP, Allies and Morrison and Richard Reid Architects between 1985 and 1992.
As the Principle of Stephen Taylor Architects he is responsible for the creative direction of the office as well as its management in London and Paris. He is currently responsible for all work carried out within the office and is closely involved with each member of his team in the development of projects from inception through to completion.
Stephen Taylor has recently been appointed a CABE enabler as part of CABE’s Enabling programme which seek to raise the aspirations, capacity and performance of everyone involved in creating and maintaining buildings and public space across England. He is also a consultant to the London Development Agency and their partners as a member of their Design Advisors Panel.
